DIXON ACADEMY EHS PROGRAM
Dixon Academy is proud to operate a high-quality Early Head Start Program in partnership with Child Care Resources Inc. of Mecklenburg County, providing comprehensive early childhood education and family support services for children from birth to age three. Using The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers & Twos, our program promotes whole-child development in a warm, responsive, and inclusive environment.

Infants (6 weeks – 12 months):
Our infant classrooms offer a nurturing and calm atmosphere where our youngest learners receive individualized care. Teachers build strong, trusting bonds with each child and family, supporting early brain development through gentle routines, sensory exploration, and responsive interactions.
Toddlers (12 – 24 months):
Toddlers are eager to move, explore, and communicate. In our toddler classrooms, children are supported as they develop motor skills, self-awareness, and early language through play-based learning, music, movement, and discovery activities guided by their natural curiosity.
Twos (24 – 36 months):
Our Twos Program builds on a toddlers’ growing independence. Using The Creative Curriculum, we promote positive social interactions, early problem-solving, and language development. Children engage in hands-on activities that support cognitive growth and lay the foundation for preschool readiness.
Across every age group, the Early Head Start Program at Dixon Academy is committed to providing equitable access to quality early learning, family engagement, developmental screenings, and health and wellness services. We work in close collaboration with families to support lifelong learning, school readiness, and strong community connections.
