Job description: Childcare Center Teacher
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Childcare Center Director
Responsibility/Delegation: The Childcare Center Teacher is directly responsible for the planning, supervising, and implementing the daily program for the children in accordance with Dixon Academy’s policies and philosophy.
Summary/Objective
Responsible for the classroom management and curriculum implementation within their respective classrooms. Ensures that a safe and nurturing environment is provided for children that encourage their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. They are accountable for the implementation of a quality program, developed by the Center Director, according to guidelines established by Dixon Academy, Incorporated and the development of positive relationships with families, children, and staff.
Required Education and Experience – Teacher

Undergraduate or graduate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with at least the equivalent or twelve (12) semester hours in child development. OR

Graduate of a 2-year Early Childhood Education program at a community or technical college.

NCEC Credential or equivalent

Be at least 21 years of age

Two years of verifiable experience working in a child development program

Ability to supervise and work with other staff of varying educational and experiential backgrounds

Evidence of emotional maturity and stability
